Our Founder

Shakeira was born on the island of Jamaica in 1989. Having experienced a motherless childhood, she was raised by her grandparents, her father and stepmother.

Shakeira was a crafty youngster growing up. She didn’t enjoy watching television or playing with toys bought from the stores, instead found a love of creating her own doll with long hair, sewing doll clothes, baking, cooking, hiding away mixing several products around the house in large bowls to see what would be the ending results. She created different hairstyles on her own hair and later on in high school she started doing school mates hair while giving tips on hairstyles.

She became a mother at age 18. A year after giving birth to her daughter she became certified in Cosmetology and Massage Therapy and later advanced her qualifications in the Beauty and Spa profession. Her goal is to always be able provide for her family which led her to migrate to United States of America in 2015.

Since then Shakeira has become one of the most successful in her family. She had to overcome many obstacles and trials but she took a leap of faith in creating her own Brand, “Brushhed by Shakeira”, in January 2018. She prayed, took the calculated risks, worked unsociable long hours to achieve her dream, she remain humbled and ambitious while watching the growth her brand. 

She now provides beauty services, natural healthy hair and skin care products to her loyal customer base.
